IVY Lab Stereoscopic Video Dataset for Visual Comfort Assessment

In our study, we needed a video database with a wide range of motion velocities and directions to investigate visual comfort assessment based on salient object motion information. For this reason, we created a new database of 3D videos for our validation experiments, consisted of 40 stereoscopic videos. To collect the real stereoscopic 3D videos, 36 real scenes were captured using a 3D digital camera with dual lenses (Fujifilm FinePix 3D W3) and the remaining 4 videos were gathered from the MPEG 3D video test sequence.
This web page provides the datasets of our Journal of Electronic Imaging, Special Section on Stereoscopic Displays and Applications [1], so that researchers can repeat our experiments on our datasets. The dataset is for research purposes only. If you use our datasets, please cite the paper [1].

Video Datasets for VCA

The test sequences provided below are part of test video database to evaluate Visual Comfort Assessment Metric based on Salient Object Motion Information in Stereoscopic Video. A total of 36 natural scenes were captured using a 3D digital camera with dual lenses (Fujifilm FinePix 3D W3). The stereoscopic videos have various movement velocities for each of three motion directions (horizontal, vertical, and depth directions). In order to exclude the effect of excessive binocular disparity on perceived visual discomfort, maximum binocular disparities of all stereoscopic videos were distributed within comfortable zone, known as 1° of disparity in previous scientific literature. In addition to this test database, we used well known MPEG 3D videos test set.
